Hi, I’m Emily Hartwell — the founder of Cozy Dream Decor and the person who has been obsessing over throw pillows, paint swatches, and the perfect reading nook for more years than I care to admit.

It started the way most good things do: out of necessity. I moved into a small apartment with bare walls, a tight budget, and a Pinterest board overflowing with rooms I thought were completely out of reach. So I did what any determined person does — I figured it out myself. One DIY project at a time, one thrifted lamp at a time, until that little apartment finally felt like home.

Friends started asking how I did it. That simple question is what inspired this blog.

My mission is simple: to prove that a beautiful, cozy home doesn’t require a designer budget or a design degree. Every article we publish is written to help real people — renters, first-time homeowners, apartment dwellers, and anyone trying to create a home they genuinely love coming back to.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually rearranging my living room for the fourth time that month, treasure hunting at thrift stores and vintage markets, or tending to my ever-growing plant collection. I also have a dog who has very strong opinions about throw pillows.

My favorite styles include cozy minimalism, cottagecore, Japandi interiors, and timeless decor that feels comfortable instead of overly perfect.

Over the years, I’ve experimented with decorating everything from tiny studio apartments to full family homes, and the lesson has always been the same: the best spaces are not the most expensive ones — they’re the ones that feel personal and lived in.
